Housekeeping

  • Welcome Back!

  • This year, we have 3 conveners: Darsi, Tom, and Tara. We are our “programming board” for 2025. As discussed last year, Implementers is meeting every other week in 2025. The programming board meets in the off weeks to prepare sessions.

  • Our Big 2025 Project: The Implementers Survey (see https://folio-org.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/IMPLEMENTERS/pages/3051206 )

    • Nothing to do yet, just a reminder

  • Please do add yourself as an attendee so we can have accurate stats this year

Filling in the topic calendar

  • Topic Calendar and Idea Bank - 2025

  • The group spent the time together filling in the Topic Calendar for 2025. We filled in most of the year and left some space towards the fall for new topics as they arise, and to put topics we bump for more timely issues. Eureka is of particular interest. We will talk about Eureka for testing, permissions, and later in the year for updates.

  • Next, the conveners will start gathering speakers and resources for these sessions. Some sessions may change dates due to availability of our speakers--we will keep the group informed.

PC Update by Charlotte Whitt

2025-01-09 Product Council Agenda & Meeting Notes

Announcements:

More on evaluating the PC process for evaluating new functionality:

Slides by Jennifer Eustis - the working group has worked on this in several rounds, and gotten feedback from the PO group, and more focused feedback from individual POs. The working group liked the TC review process, but in the light of the PC review process is different from the TC’s process, then a less formal process was presented.

Overview page on wiki on the Evaluation Process for New FOLIO Functionality. Intention is a living document.

Decision logs of Functionality evaluated by the PC.

The PC’s evaluation process is more holistic on the complete FOLIO product, where the SIG’s work with the POs are much more focused on detail functionality.

The PC will focus on Endorsement - instead of approval, denial, etc. The PC want the process to be pro-active, uplifting and encouraging. The working group has submitted request to get a Jira Key Project. This will work well with the created Jira Dashboards.

Next steps: Pilot projects: 1) The Reading Room Circulation Functionality (enhanced functionality of existing app) and 2) Workflow app. (new app).
