Meeting Notes

We did not have a set agenda but used the meeting as an open discussion on problems/concerns with FOLIO.

  1. It was pointed out that “Check out – all permissions” only contains one sub-permission. Pointless right now.
  2. There are some oddities with the naming of permissions. For example, some say “Settings (Circ)” and some say “Settings (Circulation)”. There should be consistent naming. Very important to report anomalies in Permissions.
  3. Discussion on the Request App functioning slowly. Some libraries are experiencing this in title level request and item level requests. For item level requests, it’s more specifically when looking up requests from the Users app.
  4. At Stanford a user reported that she was able to request v. 1 in a set but when she tried to request v. 2 and v. 3 she couldn’t. The library does not use title level request. Group suggested it is probably a problem with the discovery layer.
  5. Stanford reported two aged to lost bills for the same item. Does it display in the Circulation log as two separate “aged to lost” transactions? Library will check the Circulation log. They’re self-hosted. Thomas Trutt volunteered to help with contacting developers on this problem.
  6. Report of patrons receiving the same note twice – turned out to be a problem in the back end.
  7. Discussion of the FOLIO release libraries are on – variety of Poppy and Quesnelia.
    1. User app is faster in Quesnelia
    2. Some of the actual cost billing bugs in seems to fixed with Quesnelia
  8. Discussion about List App – Is it providing accurate data? Is it slow? What can it be used for? – Reserve clean up, auto renewals, users who have bills, etc. There were talks at WOLFcon about how to use it.
  9. Does anyone want to becoming a convenor for RA SIG?
