System Integrations | Ingolf Kuss, Tod Olsen - SysOps SIG | SysOps Integration Spreadsheet They have had some input already but would like to hear from more institutions, those already implemented and soon to implement. Now that we have several institutions up and running, what are the issues they are having? Are there any enhancement requests? Patty: is this list current? GVSU current integrations aren't listed Tod: started with those who are active in SysOps, know they need more input. Aeon? Tod- that isn't a direct FOLIO integration at Chicago Ian: ReShare integration is a mix of using NCIP, Z39.50 and OAI-PMH Jacquie: Does anyone use RAPIDIll? Should it also be listed? Patty: at least two institutions use RAPID ILL Tod: would like to keep the list to things actually being used. What are the pain points that people are experiencing with their integrations? Jenn: integration with MARC Edit? There are authentication issues with that. Would that be a SysOps issue? Tod: will have to figure that out. Some integration solutions might work for more than one issue. Chat discussion on authentication: if authentication is an issue, then the edge module would probably solve that and let it pass to SRS but, that's good news! That means that any institutions that need it would fund a new dev team, instead of having to queue the work with an existing team Jacquie: Do we want to list all the Discovery Layers that need to have data extracts from FOLIO? Tod: not sure, might be excessive Need institutions to go to the spreadsheet and fill in the "Integrations and Pain Points" tab.
ACTION: fill out the spreadsheet for your institution by October 29.
Future agenda items | All | Next meeting Oct 26 - Capacity Planning Team Need new demos, they are helpful Tod: should we coordinate with the Support SIG or documentation group? Bob: Does the official documentation include videos or demos? They are useful Patti: could the demos be farmed out to the SIGs Tod: seeing others' workarounds in the demos is also useful Patti: some of the vended libraries are active in the SIGs, others are a little more shy. Should we bring them here for introductions? CalTech is going live now, for instance, and nobody seems to know that. The group liked this idea and asked the vendors to invite new implementers to future meetings?
Future meeting ideas: | Hosting/migration service providers - lessons learned, not sales pitch Update from Capacity Planning Team on post-Kiwi development SysOps will want to ask about integrations with external systems, how are they going for implemented libraries? How do you get your vouchers to university payment office? IS NCIP working? |
