20 minsReceiving demoJoanna Cerro - Cornell

Receiving serials - some of their rec'g records migrated from Voyager, so she just copies the caption of the last issue rec'd and pastes it into "add piece" and edits to fit new issue in Receiving app.  Those don't show to the public so have to go to Inventory instance record and goes to "View holdings" and "add receiving history" adds new issue.  They use only the Enum field and ignore Chron.

Cornell does not plan to use MARC holdings in SRS.

Must have "manually add" box checked in PO to have this work.

Lessens learned - How to gather?

Implementers role

We have had a dearth of topics lately and have cancelled several meetings.  We've been through lulls before.  Is this just another lull or should we revisit our role and purpose?

Tod - one thing that is needed is a place to swap tips & tricks - (also discussed at last meeting).  At Chicago have a lot of MS Access apps outside of their system to help manage operations and hope to have them work in FOLIO and will share.

AMB: We're trying to start gathering those workarounds and tips for Data Import on the wiki. I just need to build the page and post a few from the last DI subgroup mtg

Are there different needs for already-implemented and soon-to-implement libraries?

Maybe we could be a point of contact for the Roadmap group. That group is still trying to figure out how to balance aspirations and practical needs in development.

Karen - we've been good at stressing priorities for release development.

Maybe this is just a lull because it's summer, there is dissatisfaction with Juniper and Kiwi features chosen.

Tod - in terms of Roadmap, what are our most urgent/fundamental pain points?  Some are straightforward, some may be issues of technical debt.  Can we rally the community around addressing those? Ex - data import, data integrity

Tom - tech debt issues are not really up for debate.  Should those really be up for community vote?  Should POs and Cap Plan Team just address them?

AMB - for Data Import bugs have been identified and even fixed and Texas A&M devs really contributed to this.  Can we make use of talent in libraries?

Patty - this group needs a proposed audience.  Libraries working on Data Import or Circ Rules should be helping each other.  There is a need for some of these people to gather.

For a recently implemented library, where is there a weekly can't miss session?

Paul - attends for the practical aspects and learns from them.

Patty - we could make a schedule for feature demos

AMB - 2 or 3 libraries showing their finance structures and why they built them they way they did.

And as the Tags PO, I would love to know what folks are using tags for in their various systems

1 minFuture topics

Tom would like suggestions of which demos we'd like to see.  Any particular features or functions?  Thinking of courses and receiving now.  Also looking for implemented sites willing to demo.

→ The demos are old! - it would be great to see how people have come along with those modules they implemented back then. So I'd like to see new, updated workflows for those modules.
