1.介绍在FOLIO项目中PO的主要职责、PO的组成以及目前进度

PO is area focus. Usually a PO needs to demonstrate the latest version of the folio project (don’t need to develop it yourself, can have developer teams). It’s like a presentation.

POs use dashboards to see the Epics and Features,

The Epics link need refresh, because some features they didn’t make it, and pushed them out.FOLIO now have many POs, some are full time some are part-time. They do have POs in North Boston, and Cate is the leader of these POs.

These POs they meet every week to discuss the new progress, lay stress on some technical problems, decoupling, and record the milestone.

EBSCO has GOOGLE DRIVE folders which contains more information about the FOLIO features.

2.介绍FOLIO in China的基本情况

Xiaoyang explained the situation in Shanghai Library, they have a large number of developers, 3~4 teams, around 20 people. They’ve already developed their own modules for use, in the process, they also use some of FOLIO core modules such as check-in and check-out. They are now trying to find a better way to monitor OKAPI gateways.

We all want to have better communication with global FOLIO community.

3.FOLIO issue tracker

Cate explained to us about the issue tracker she(and all other POs) uses.

The UX PROD decide what to do first. It’s a ranking by PO. They consider many aspects, such as technical dependencies (Is the problem easy or hard to be tackled). These characters combine together to finalize the priority.

POs in different areas, simply mark the one that is more important for them in their area, the one with most marks ranks on the top. However, POs have to shuffle the table over the time, to prevent the situation that some features don’t get marked simply because they didn’t get to be seen. POs have to pick out what they think are essential (even though the original priority doesn’t show the case) and give them high priority.

4.FOLIO开发者的管理

For folio developers, what they should do first is shown on MVP board.

But in the internal team, developers no longer care about the MVP. Since the development team has already been assigned the job to, they use inner team characters to track the project progress(what they should do first). Such as ERM develop team.

FOLIO China希望Cate能尽快确定China PO的人员,建立FOLIO China与美国FOLIO团队直接沟通与对接的渠道;同时,双方近期可以就技术和需求问题再次进行视频沟通和了解。
