Middle Tennessee State University (Clay Oldham, Kimberly Smith & Suzanne Mangrum) -
Kristin Martin 12:20 PM Re Financial Mapping slide: When the errors were thrown and orders were not created, what notification did you get?
Red Toast message saying orders not created, also some errors on Gobi side. Was able to trace why ebooks why the ebook wasn’t transferring over.
Scott Perry (UChicago) 12:23 PM Do you use a local data field in GOBI for expense classes?
Kimberly Smith (MTSU) 12:24 PM Local Data 2 from the GOBI Mapping is the field in the API worksheet
Presentation ends at :28 minutes after the hour.
Dung Lan: For your order, I see that you have a full call number, is that normal?
Suzanne: Some Gobi information comes over that you don’t expect, but I don’t think it’s normal.
Juleah Swanson: We are looking into implementing GOB API, feeling limited by only 4 local local data fields. We are also in a implementing in a shared tenant environment, so we have to negotiate that.
Dennis: You can re map local fields on the folio side. Can’t add additional local fields to Gobi at the moment, but they know that is a point of frustration. You can set defaults on the folio side. so if certain fields are always going to be 'x’ value, you can set that as a default.
You can also map expense class and fund code together and free up the expense class field. Drawback is there are only so many characters allowed in the feild.
Scott Perry (UChicago) 12:31 PM Isn’t that a limitation of the GOBI interface? GOBISmart can be used.
Yes
Can the expense class be set based on sub account?
Suzanne Mangrum: I think it could.
On the folio side, you can use sub account to assign acq units, but not expense classes.
Sara Colglazier 12:37 PM To 5C people: we should follow up on what Dennis just said re: ACQ Units based on Account Codes
Dennis: What are some of the highlights, some of the things you wish you could change?
Suzanne Mangrum: I thought this would work with an import profile. I wish folio came to the table with an API Key. Mostly wish Gobi had more options.
Dennis: Re mapping: Are you talking about the stub record or full record provided by Gobi?
Suzanne: We were coming from marc with order or marc with invoice.
Scott Perry (UChicago) 12:39 PM Are there plans to make the interface vendor agnostic or at least with a different name? I think there is at least one other vendor that is working on implementing an API.
Daniel Huang, Lehigh University to Everyone 12:39 PM Hello, did I hear Lehigh
Aaron Neslin 12:39 PM (Edited) it's something we can look at. we now have edge on sandbox and access to the FOLIO side of the mappings. We just need to find a way to test. Not something we had during our initial configuration
Sara Colglazier 12:39 PM Also maybe the Prefix can be tied that way as well to map it in.
Kristin Martin: For the GOBI Api you set up in folio, with in settings, the mapping looks different than in data import. The difference is confusing, Ideally the set up would be similar.
Sara Colglazier: Your presentation is on the mark, we encountered many of the same things. We have orders coming over as pending, and would love to be able to then put a template on top of that.

Live demo
Spreadsheet of type of order load. Divided up by firm orders, approval orders, firm full cataloging,
Within folio, use data import to load orders. Shows all the data import profiles.
They do use marc mapping. Migrated away from using the Lehigh orders app with Poppy, was not an easy transition, but has been a great time saver to convert everything within FOLIO proper.
There is a bug with data import that I believe is fixed in the Q release.
Juleah: Since you haven’t implemented the GOBI API, have you noticed limitations or benefits
Kristin: With API get real time information to make sure you aren’t over spending. There are more limitations on mapping than there are using data import. Some reasons we held off on not implementing API have been resolved.
Sara Colglazier 12:59 PM @Suzanne Mangrum (she/her) I am wondering what you were pointing out re: the Location on your POL is just the linked Inventory Holding talking back to the POL once it has been fully set up?!
Ran out of time, Will continue presentations and conversation at future meeting.
