Demo of a specific WeCat feature: the Headings management in WeCat by Tiziana Possemato
Three ways to manage headings (add, edit, delete)
Working directly on index.
Search relevant index. Example given: name search
If heading is present in index, it shows in second position, so previous and successive headings show.
If heading is not present, one can be added right then, by creating a new heading.
This heading is then present in the index, but it is not yet present in the authority file, but an authority record can be created from this starting point.
This heading is saved in the relational database. It is stored in the Name Heading table (NME_HDG)
Each heading is identified with a unique identifier.
From the index, a heading can be copied to create a new one.
Working on the cataloging worksheet.
An existing heading can be used from here, or a new one can be created.
To see if a heading already exists in the index, a search is done.
