Expiration Date Should Respect Closed Library Dates:

  • Question from Brooks: Is the expectation that the closed library date management setting would be pulled from the applicable loan policy for the item/patron combination, or would this need to be a tenant-level or pickup location-level setting?
  • Concern: the requests should take the closed days in to consideration
  • What happens to the Service Points that have different Opening times? - Calender will act for the SP
  • Where should the closed due date configuration be?  a tenant-level or pickup location-level?
    • Use the same information that is configured for the loan?
      • Example: it is not possible to pick up a book on a closed day but it is possible to bring it back (e.g. through book flap)
  • conclusion: cleaner to put this information on the SP level
  • Magnus: Is there a possiblity to not count closed days at all?
    • Stanford: extend holds pick up times
    • Functionality: change the due date manually
  • Problem with open hold shelves
