This card refines the Comparison feature covered in , and refines behavior tied to the ‘Clear selections’ function for selecting and deselecting instance resource descriptions when the cataloger has invoked comparison mode.

Selection

The cataloger should be able to add instance titles to a comparison set when the user has entered comparison mode. To do so, the cataloger simply can click the checkbox of an instance from the search result set.

After clicking the checkbox:

• Checkbox icon indicator activated for the instance

• Numbered icon added to the instance display, showing the corresponding number of the selected item

• If the newly selected instance is displayed in the full display in the comparison panel, then the instance row is highlighted in blue

Deselection

Deselection of an instance should work the same as clicking the 'X' / exit icon of the title in comparison mode.

However, given time constraints, we will opt to disable the ability for a cataloger to deselect items from the search result set when the user is in comparison mode.
