Preparation for July Reporting FOLIO ForumAll

As part of our July Reporting FOLIO Forum presentation, we would like to provide some nice demonstrations of running queries against the LDP Reference Environment. Specifically, we would like to demonstrate running one query from each of these reporting areas: RA/UM, MM, and RM (ERM is not yet ready for demos). To prepare for this presentation, we'd like someone from each of these subgroups to do a trial run of showing a sample query at the Reporting SIG meeting on Monday, June 8. (We are still getting an exact data in July.)

What queries seem most ready for such a demonstration from each of the subgroup areas?

  • RA/UM - Lost and Missing items or Claims Returned - need to confirm what is working best with test data
  • MM - HaithiTrust query
  • RM - there is a good chance that the RM-Title Count Cluster query will be ready to demo

How to show

  • Nassib will introduce people and provide an update on the LDP software
  • explain that we have a limited data set
  • go into a little detail
  • give background on the problem being solved
  • explain purpose of this reporting cluster
  • high-level description of the table connections
  • highlight what you can do in LDP that you cannot do in FOLIO
  • show rough ER diagram with ways tables connect
  • explain what kind of data is in your area
  • mentioning during these queries, cases where institutions handle data differently and may cause complications or hang ups (if any) down the line

Environment to use to run query:

LDP FOLIO RELEASE

Demos

  • show results, then show query

Updates from Various Reporting Related Groups and EffortsCommunity & Coordination, Reporting Subgroup Leads

Project updates

The Reporting SIG is using small working groups to address priorities and complete our work.  Each week, we will provide updates to the Reporting SIG from these various reporting-related groups and efforts. Please include updates on specific JIRA issues for prototype or query development workflow. Do we need to create any additional JIRA tickets?

Community & Coordination:

  • Test data needed for LDP Reference Environment
    • possible sources: Chicago, Alabama, Cornell, Others?
    • need to anonymize location, user, and other sensitive data
    • need additional resource to handle getting, compiling, and supplementing test data - ideas?
      • see performance task team? they need to generate test data, too
      • performance test data set may not have enough depth
      • perhaps Chicago can pursue - clear proposal needed; need to be careful about de-anonymization
    • also need additional UI developer for FOLIO app to provide interface to LDP database - ideas?

Development:

  • LDP software updates - see LDP Announce slack channel
  • preparing for a 1.0 release; focus on under-the-hood and performance changes

RA/UM Working Group:

  • Request Cluster prototype is done

MM Working Group:

  • HathiTrust report query

RM Working Group:

ERM Working Group:
