Agenda items

  1. Continue working on next steps for adjusting the presentation to address the feedback

Minutes

  1.  How do we continue the work of this group? Need to enlarge or go back to simpler way. Wiki is still useful for onboarding, but need more help and expertise and mentors. Need our outline to share with others to get them to join. Need to focus on what we really need to communicate. Activate new members so that they can work with other institutions and be active participants. Messaging about signing an MOU that might not get from a vendor. Other information not getting from vendors. You signed an MOU? Here is what that means. How do we learn that there are new libraries involved?
    1. Invite someone from new website team to ask about being included there – Rachel Fadlon? Ask how to plan to integrate new members and how can we be part of that.
    2. Thursday is SIG convener meeting, PC meeting too – squeeze in question about asking folks to join? Results of pilot, needs a lot of work, make onboarding interactive, need more members. Have a framework and need help to implement it.
    3. Structure our work a bit. Videos later? Wiki guide can be done now.
    4. Create list of contacts for new members.
    5. Onboarding concept
    6. Could have video team at WolfCon to interview for videos. Sharon will look into this idea and see if we could recruit. Create a subgroup = video team
  2. Software slides – have a place maintained by TC on theirs our our space with a contact
    1. Explain software at a general informational level
  3. Community slides stay in presentation
  4. Closing slides with questions for follow up meeting stay
  5. Next steps? Create small groups to work on various aspects of the wiki, slides, etc. This is what we want help with.

Parking Lot:

  • Reach out to National Library of Australia to join the community/presentation
  • Need to add the scope for the Onboarding group to the wiki page
  • Future topic:  just got this message from Maccabee: Hi Kristin.  Are you on that group working on an "orientation" experience for new FOLIO members?  Someone reached out to me today, a new EBSCO-hosted customer, very friendly and very much a newbie, with asking many of the usual questions about what version am I using, what is "snapshot" and how do I login, how do I see when specific features made it into a release (i.e. I introduced him to Jira), etc.  I feel like we need a FAQ as part of the orientation .  Of course there probably is a FAQ and he probably hasn't done the orientation yet.  But I'm so glad the community is putting that together, it is really needed!
