Product Council update
  • Capacity planning is still be worked on.
  • Identifying a way to have a proof-of-concept for the workflow engine is being discussed.

AnnouncementsLaura E Daniels

Thanks to Lisa Furubotten for volunteering to co-convene.

Charlotte, Christie, and Laura will be holding a forum on September 26 about Inventory. If anyone would like to participate, please let Laura know.

Another idea for a program is to hold a panel meeting for SIG conveners to share where the development is for each area so far. The group thought a quarterly meeting would be a good idea, especially if timed with the quarterly reviews. Laura will take these ideas back to the forum facilitators. It may not turn out to be a forum, but a sharing opportunity. This could be a "SIG Review."

Subgroup Updates
  • Analytics and Bound with - plan to reconvene the WG next week (to talk UX with Filip) - No updates.
  • ERM - https://docs.google.com/document/d/102KqGk74SXiydenAWfecLrZVuWYyh0w71k-Zl1hFPkQ/edit - Felix showed this collection of terms that can appear in ERM and in Cataloging records. This is already aligned with FOLIO Inventory terminology.
  • Batch Loader - Ann-Marie reported that nine developers are coming on board to help build this functionality. The group is working on screens with Filip as well as the functionality.
  • MarcCat - Tiziana reported that it was decided to increase the meetings to two times a week, in order to help push the development. Laura offered to "give" MM meeting time to the MARCCat group.

Holdings & Items Notes UXFilip Jakobsen

Filip showed sketches on the notes fields for instances, holdings, and items, attempting to simplify the interface.

"Comments" are used for internal discussion.

Lynn: Public and Non-Public should be an options for all note types.

  • A final list of note type terms will be needed.
  • Filip - Should any of these trigger anything, or they just descriptive? Jason - At this point there is not an expectation of an action at this point. If so, that would be part of the workflow app.
  • Ann-Marie - Are these notes part of MARC Holdings, Instance Holdings, both?
  • If there is an underlying MARC Holding, the user would be sent to the editor app.
  • Jason raised the question about where and when records are editable.
  • Charlotte suggested taking this up as an agenda for a meeting about data flow. An update of the data flow diagram is being worked on.
  • Christie - Where will this be used? Only holdings and items? Christie suggested this is a good model for all notes in MARC Instance records, so dedicated UI space is not needed for each 5XX note. Will we have a separate meeting to discuss which fields belong in notes? How will this be decided.
  • Charlotte - The point of this meeting is to present the notes in a more compact format.
  • These notes are tied to MARC fields underneath. Ann-Marie wondered if it would make sense to have the MARC fields in parenthesis in the display.
  • Dennis - Need to keep in mind people who do not have MARC Holdings, but do need to generate them for exports. The shown list is purposefully exhaustive to accommodate this scenario.
  • To proceed, Charlotte will create a Discuss post and give a deadline, to give the group a chance to comment on the list of notes.

Historical Data Migration SurveyLaura E Daniels

For Data Migration SIG, due Sept. 14

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oYKkrMHarwwoCgELhoijSDD_7J-_qPQrhx3WVUERkPA/edit

This survey is from the reporting SIG. They would like answers by Sept. 14.

  • Group believes these questions would be better addressed at the institution level.
  • Patty will provide a definition of "Historical Data" as well as help provide an understanding of how this differs from the gap analysis.

Context: The Migration Team is trying to make sure there is a place in FOLIO for everything and that reporting needs will be met.
