Review Reporting SIG interest in WolfCon?Sharon

From PC Exec....

There will not be a full-fledged WOLF Con this year and originally plans were for a developers-only F2F in May/June/July. However, there has been strong feeling that there should be a chance for SIG members to meet, also. We are surveying SIG conveners – does your SIG need/want a F2F meeting? Please fill out the spreadsheet below. Some of you may be surprised to find that somebody has already given reasons for your group to come.

Please keep these issues in mind:

Institutions will bear the full cost of sending their people – there might even be a slight meeting charge

We are currently looking at two site options and I believe both have limits, so we can’t accommodate 200+ as we did last year

Your SIG should have concrete goals for the meeting

Ideas:

  • Getting more concrete on reporting prototype: training, info share, building.
  • Valuable to get real hands-on experience - training.
  • Meet with Resource Access/Metadata Management app-interaction group.

Meeting Notes:

Possible date for F2F meeting: June 17-19 (not confirmed, yet)

Reporting SIG Goals:

  • Getting more concrete on reporting prototypes for the LDP data warehouse: training, info share, building. The report prototype developers have not met F2F yet. Develop strategies and standards for libraries to set up their own data warehouses. Prioritize reporting projects. Possible attendees: report prototype developers
  • In-depth analysis of in-app reports: Will there be a consistent interface? How realistic is the timeframe for development? Possible attendees: POs, Holly Mistlebauer, Nassib Nassar, Filip Jakobsen, Reporting SIG members
  • Meet with Resource Access/Metadata Management app-interaction group. Possible attendees: report prototype developers and MM SIG members

Ingolf thinks that it is reasonable to tackle these goals in face-to-face meetings.

Joining the LDP Report Working Group (LDP- Report-WG)Sharon

The Report Prototype Subgroup has been working with Nassib to identify good report candidates from our requirements, document their data elements, build reports using those elements, and test them with different reporting applications. We are making good progress, but we could use a few more data analysts from the Reporting SIG to help with this effort.

Our goal is to continue to meet twice a week at times that work for both new and current members. This is a working group, where we are actively involved in documenting data elements and building reports designed to run against the new FOLIO Library Data Platform (LDP) reference data warehouse.

If you are ready to dig into FOLIO reporting, please join us!

Please send Sharon an email or slack message if you are interested.

Meeting Notes:

The group is currently working on Circ reports. It will next work on eUsage reports.

The group meets weekly now (Mondays 3 PM EST) and will meet twice a week in future. A Doodle poll has been set up.

There is a Slack channel for the subgroup.

There are a few instances with sample data. More sample data can be loaded in cooperation with the developers. Roman Ruiz-Esparza is one of the developers who works on the sample data (test data).

The hbz has found one person who will work on connecting the German Library Statistics DBS to the FOLIO LDP and will write corresponding reports. Due to time conflicts, she will not be able to participate in the working group's meetings, but will watch the recordings and communicate via Slack and other channels. She is currently doing initial training.

Joining the LDP Deployment Working Group (LDP-Deployment-WG)NassibWe are looking for institutions to try installing a very early version of the nascent LDP data warehouse software and offer preliminary feedback. Please contact Nassib by email or slack if you are interested.
