If you are a new member of one of the Folio SIGs (Special Interest Groups), welcome! We're glad to have you participate in this exciting project.

  1. The best thing to do to start is to contact your SIG Convener and introduce yourself.
  2. People speak English in most meetings. If your native language is something other than English, (WHAT?)
  3. SIGs meet using the Zoom online conferencing tool. They generally use the same Zoom link for every meeting. See your SIG's page in the wiki to find out what Zoom link to use and when your group meets. This is an international project, so be sure to take Time Zone into consideration.
  4. Please sign up for the Folio wiki in Confluence (wiki.folio.org) and the Folio discussion sites in JIRA (issues.folio.org) by doing the self-signup, which is available at: https://issues.folio.org/secure/Signup!default.jspa (this sign-up gets you into both the Confluence & JIRA).

  5. Contact your Convener will make a request to add you to the reporting-sig Mailing List.

  6. Please go to http://discuss.folio.org and request an account by clicking on the Sign Up button on the upper right. The Folio Reporting discussion site section is https://discuss.folio.org/c/sigs/rpt

  7. Please update your entry in the Reporting SIG Roles table on the Reporting SIG Home page in the Folio Reporting wiki.

  8. FOLIO uses a Slack team called "folio-project" for real-time chat communication.  Please request an account in the FOLIO team using the automated web form.  (There is no review process for new account requests; the invitation is automatically sent to your email address.) Slack offers a getting started with Slack guide. Once you are on the FOLIO Slack team, please join the #reporting channel.

  9. Please send your gmail account address to the Convener (Sharon Beltaine), who will use this to set you up with access to the Reporting SIG Google Docs folder

  10. Once you have access to the Reporting SIG Google Docs folder, please review and add your institution's reporting requirements to the Reporting SIG Master Spreadsheet. These are the functional requirements developers are using to create the Folio Reporting tools.

  11. Please review past meeting agendas and minutes to see what we have discussed. A video recording of every past meeting is also available for your information in the Recordings folder in the Reporting SIG Google Docs folder.

  12. Prior to each meeting, the Convener will send the next meeting's agenda the reporting-sig Mailing list. Reporting SIG participants take turns completing the minutes for each meeting. No worries... we do not expect perfect meeting notes. We just need to get it done.

  13. We encourage new members to watch the "Reporting SIG 101" video, which Holly Mistlebauer and Sharon Beltaine provided on 2/11/19 to bring new members up to speed on FOLIO Reporting SIG projects, tools, and resources.
