Migrating loose issues of periodicals

How have institutions migrated receiving history for subscriptions/serials.  How/where was this migrated in FOLIO?
What about migrating/adding pieces in receiving, how did that work out.

  • Cornell used https://github.com/folio-org/acq-models/blob/master/mod-orders-storage/schemas/piece.json
created POs first, posted to /orders/pieces
  • put all the pieces in receiving
  • used enum/chron
  • overloaded the display! better now
  • holdings was a separate process, no connection at the time. things they wanted to display went here
  • Theodor says you can create items now as part of receiving, or just holdings
  • can receipt line (bib tag) be created as part of receipt
  • Jenn confirms you can

Cornell did ALL OF THEM, 600,000
UI only displays the first 1000, fixed this in Kiwi

in PO line, there’s a box to check “manually create pieces”
Cornell checked it for ongoing serials

UChicago, loaded all of them as well

EBSCO tries to nudge folks to summarize their receiving history in summary holdings statement, then be able to start fresh
for display, if the data is there, we should populate it

loading the receipts won’t add anything to holdings statement.  add 86x to holdings statement as part of migrating to holdings.
ongoing, when checking in new serials, have to update the holdings manually (automated is brand new in Kiwi)

RTAC has a flag, can make it return the holdings statement, only the first one.  or can have it return all items.
Maybe this can be made better.
