Time | Item | Who | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
5 | Welcome | Dale | Someone who hasn't done it in a while should take notes. |
20 | Priorities for Acquisitions | Dennis B. and others | Dennis Bridges will attend to discuss changes and improvements to the APIs for organizations, orders, invoices, and finance that are needed to support data migration, and which changes should be prioritized. Notes JIRA issue for enhancing APIs. https://folio-org.atlassian.net/browse/UXPROD-2619 Wiki page for collecting comments https://folio-org.atlassian.net/wiki/display/DD/Acquisitions+API+migration+enhancements Keeping Historical information about orders is a challenge. Dennis Bridges has created this Jira and the Wiki page for current acquisitions APIs that were not specifically designed to be used for migrating data. We are invited to make comments and feedback on the Wiki page. Orders need efforts, but also organizations. The latter have smaller data sets. |
20 | POC for bulk APIs | Ian | Ian will be working on a POC to implement bulk APIs for data migration using a separate, dedicated module. We discussed this briefly last time, and I wanted to leave some time during this meeting to continue the discussion, if people have more to say. Using Postgrest. An interface for posgres db. |
20 | Documentation | Various | Last week Marcia Borensztain Borensztajn came to discuss principles for producing documentation of data migration strategies and procedures. We would like to hear more from the group about what we think we could do, and what we have time to do. Ebsco has said that it will continue to fund Marcia's position if the SIGs can dedicate someone to work on documentation for their domain. Technically, we are not a SIG, but we do work in a domain that needs to documented for institutions who want to adopt Folio and are trying to adapt it to their needs. Is there someone in our group who can dedicate a certain amount of time over the next six months to working on documentation? We will discuss more during the meeting. |
Action items
Dale Arntson will set up a topic backlog page.
Ian Walls will talk to Cate and Jakub and move forward on JIRAs
We should at least document a sequence of dependencies: e.g. migrate users first, then instances, ... There is already a document with the dependencies: (please someone post the link here) |
Action items
- Revisit the acquisition API improvements: Dennis offers to come back to this group a few times to discuss our feedback on the Acquisitions wiki page https://folio-org.atlassian.net/wiki/display/DD/Acquisitions+API+migration+enhancements
