PC update | There were updates for all the SIG conveners. For MM SIG, the discussion revolved around more timely announcements when underlying functionality changed that had implications for institutions. The example were changes to property names that broke some of the reports. Jennifer Eustis has volunteered to dig into release notes and changes. Inventory update. New features | A look at Inventory plans - Kiwi and Lotus. Slidedeck
This is about swapping postgres sql to elastic search and is currently being worked on. For Lotus, the filters will display the number of records. The switch to elastic search also includes the Instance Lookup component. Record header: In the item record, now you can link directly to holdings or instance record. Bound with UI display has been worked on which includes the icon. The Boundwith UI display has been worked on. There are POLitem record has a new Bound with accordion. The bound with work here is when items are being related to multiple holdings. See Bound with slides. POL's can be connected to holdings and items and and now can be seen in holdings via the element called Acquisition which provides POL data in that holdings record that links out to the POL in the Orders App.
Under optimistic locking, errors messages will be more human readable. Browse will also be a new feature for the Inventory search in addition to Administrative Note in instances, holdings, and items. Sorting by publication date will be available as well as being able to search by index title. For Morning Glory, there are plans for a hierarchical display of the result list and improvements on how to present data in the 3rd pane and adding summary data of the instance. Query searches are useful for searching for options that are not in the drop down. One big win is that the number of results from the search is exact with elastic search. Right now this number is the exact count of instances. Tips for query searches (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1u7kjVh-lQahp-SUEGgGWDyw65LtYRXEdYi_lyier2k4/edit#gid=901484405 What about statistical codes? This might be implemented on the back end already and are documented. This is a facet and needs to be explored. Keyboard shortcuts have been implemented. There are a couple of bugs when using it for holdings and items. Everything will be ready for Lotus for all FOLIO record types. Navigation improvements: At the top of the holdings record, the instance title is now a link that brings you to the instance.
Bound-with API |
In the future, the Accordion table will include hotlinks. Right now, it is just information. Also, the item that is linked to multiple holdings should show up when you view those holdings. This is work to be done. Using the API, you can create, edit, or delete these relationships. This will work in Juniper but will only display starting with Kiwi. Is there an indication which holdings record has the item attached to it initially? There is a flag at the instance level which is true or false. When there is a bound with relationship, the instance title changes color.
