September 12th: Nothing for this date. Peter/Sharon going to take this idea to the Product Council.

...

Moderator/Host: Peter Murray

Participants:

...

  • Similar to sprint reviews for developers but with SIG conveners
  • Start off with a discussion with what people are working on currently and what they recently got done
  • Thoughts on what would need to be done in anticipation of late 2018 gathering
  • Something like "fast-adds" which touches many of the modules
  • Focusing on where there is overlap between SIGs/Apps.
  • A concern about how much time it would take to prepare this across the project
  • A concern about how so many people would work in one panel
  • Exclude RA because they recently presented
  • About 8 SIGs actively working plus workflow proof-of-concept
  • Promote as a public forum?

Further discussion today

  • Something that is sprint-review-like for SIGs, but it isn't a Forum. Not outward facing.
  • Kind of like a "cross-module" SIG as was discussed earlier in the project.

WhoNotes

September 26th: Inventory App Update

Laura E Daniels to ask Charlotte and Christie if this would be a good date for a presentation on Inventory app. Can mention the existence of the MARC Edit App for a possible later Forum.

  • Laura E Daniels: Need catchier title and description for Forum
  • Difference between inventory/MARCcat/Codex
  • Hearing from Christie that there is a problem with the version on YouTube – the front is missing...too much trimmed from the front? Eric Hartnett to follow-up with Michael Winkler.
  • Too much talking? Good balance between talking and showing? Hearing some of each. Good comments from people that haven't been involved in metadata management. Good comments about clean interface.
  • Add to registration email: Registration doesn't guarantee a seat in the webinar, and that the recording will be put up on YouTube.
  • Add to announcement: Encourage people to watch in groups.
  • Also: people were not aware that the webinar was happening. Post webinar announcements to the all-SIG list.

October 17th: Single-tenant Consortia plans

To talk holistically about the communities in the Foundation: the ones that exist, the ones that are coming on. Talk about the idea of scope for the FOLIO project as it relates to the goals of these communities coming onboard. To include members of the OLF Board, ideally.

Review Idea Bank
  • ERM review
  • MARCCat as a new topic?
  • Presentations could start to look at deployment, particularly in a hosted, non-hosted environment
  • Work to prep for migrations to FOLIO. Get implementation managers on a panel.
  • How FOLIO is impacting libraries now: view from Cornell – wait to reach out until we have better sense of implementation timelines; How are they viewing FOLIO from a strategic perspective
  • What is the international perspective on FOLIO? Can we get a panel of international sites (Australia, GVB) to give their perspectives? Plus, international update
  • Host a Forum in the Spanish language with roadmap discussion and demo, could be hosted by Lydia @ EBSCO, include UNAM development team. Rachel Fadlon to investigate.
  • Podcasting as a possibility to get developers to answer questions about the process, EBSCO has people who be able to edit
  • Panel of PO/SIG facilitator/developer together to discuss the full life cycle, moderated by product owner
