UX: Attempted Bulk Action with No Records Selected

Description

Purpose: Get UX guidance on how we can let users know that they need to select a loan before they can take bulk action

Background:

  • This question is regarding the Loans page but I would expect we'd have similar needs elsewhere: https://www.dropbox.com/s/owyyqih5euj12jt/loan-history-open-4.png?dl=0

  • There are many bulk actions you can take on this page. For example, Claim returned, Renew, Change due date etc.

  • I think we need some kind of error message to display if a user clicks a button like "Renew" without first selecting at least one Loan record to renew

  • Could UX please provide guidance here including, ideally, a mock-up?

Thanks!

Great! I think we can call this done.
Thanks!

Buttons will be greyed out if nothing is selected. I'd suggest a tooltip (explaining why they are greyed out) if someone hovers over one of the greyed out bulk action buttons.
