Yes. We may someday implement the ability to re-order these values on the Patron group CRUD page in Settings, but for now alphabetical makes sense.

can you confirm this? This ticket is pure speculation on my part, but I sort of expect that every single query we run should have a "sortby" clause attached to it, right?

On the user edit pane, the options in the "Patron group" list are listed in the order the groups were added to the DB
Expected behavior
"Patron group" items should be sorted alphabetically.
Actual behavior
They ain't.
