Are Date and Time Format Correct for Danish?

Description

Steps to Repro:

  1. Log into folio-testing

  2. Go to Settings > Organization > Language and Localization

  3. Select Danish

  4. Go to Users and look at a user record

Expected: Per Wikipedia, it seems Danish dates should display as DD.MM.YYYY but they are current displaying as DD/MM/YYYY. Also, the time formatting seems really odd: HH.MM.SS Is that right? Should it not be HH:MM:SS per the 24 hour clock?

Actual: current displaying as DD/MM/YYYY. Time displaying as HH.MM.SS

HH.MM.SS is also OK: I rest my case.. Everything is fine..

Yes. We're using https://github.com/yahoo/react-intl, which in turn depends on https://formatjs.io/. That defines the locales.

Cate Boerema October 6, 2017 at 6:24 PM

Aren't the formats associated with the locale coming out of some standard library?

Mike Taylor October 6, 2017 at 6:01 PM

So it looks like what's happening here is that the Danish locale is being correctly activated, but it's defined in a way that uses an unusual time format?
