Title search: Apostrophe/Right Single Quotation Mark (U+2019) not found

Description

Preconditions:

  • there is an Inventory instance record in FOLIO Snapshot with resource title: [Dell'Emulazione e dell'Influenza della Poesia sui Costumi, discorsi due.]

Steps to reproduce:
Login to FOLIO Snapshot go to Inventory:

  1. search for: [Dell'Emulazione e dell'Influenza della Poesia sui Costumi, discorsi due.]

  2. search for: Dell'Emulazione e

  3. search for: e dell'Influenza

  4. search for: dell'Influenza della

in search term: All (title, contributor, identifier)

or in search term: Title

Expected result:
It finds the instance record mentioned in the preconditions.

Actual result:
"No results found "

Note that these searches do find the instance record:

  1. search for: Dell'Emulazione

  2. search for: dell'Influenza

The apostrophe character used is unicode character U+2019, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apostrophe#Unicode

Hooray! This is fixed in folio-snapshot. Thank you !! FYI this is the last issue in ! I think we (with lots of help from Core Platform) made some really good Inventory search improvements this quarter.

This is fixed in raml-module-builder-version 26.4.0.
mod-inventory-storage still uses raml-module-builder-version 26.3.1: https://github.com/folio-org/mod-inventory-storage/blob/master/pom.xml
We will release raml-module-builder-version 27.0.0 this week and will then update mod-inventory-storage accordingly.
Therefore this issue still has status "blocked".

I see RMB-432 is marked done now. I re-tested this issue and found that this bug still repros in folio-snapshot. Thoughts?

I would like to keep this ticket blocked until we can test whether RMB-432 resolved all issues. If yes, close, if no, create new front-end issues if needed.

Fair point, . I have conflated two problems here:

  1. single quotes in titles cause query problems

  2. punctuation in titles may not be indexed the way we expect/want

This ticket is only about the first. In fact, this ticket should just be closed IMO as the underlying issue is RMB-432 and there is no front-end work to be done.
