Description

Overview: The user expects to be able in Call number, eye readable search option to search on the exact call number data value, and get results where the holdings record has the call number value without or with call number suffix value. In Call number, eye readable truncation using * is set explicitly.

Assume two instance records with following holdings records exist

  •  

    • Login to FOLIO Snapshot, go to Inventory

    • When searching in the Holdings segment, using the search option Call number, eye readable,

    • and enter in the search box: GE77 .F73 2014 (with no asterisk)

    • Then both instance records will be found

  1. Scenario

    • When a user enter in the search box: GE77* (using explicit right truncation)

    • Then both instance records will be found and maybe more results found as well

Call number data element is the <call number>.
Not the concatenated call number, which consist of <call number prefix> <call number> <call number suffix>
