For Call number search to return results in Inventory, need to truncate even when searching on exact value

Description

Steps to reproduce

  1. Go to Inventory

  2. In Holdins segment > Call number, eye readable, search for an exact call number (call number proper, without prefix/suffix) that you know is assigned to at least one holding in Inventory.

Expected result

The search returns a list of either

a) holdings with this exact call number, ie 711.163
b) holdings with this partial call number, eg 711.163(10)

I am not sure which of these two to expect – but would definitely like to be able to perform an exact search.

Actual result

The search returns no results, although I know there are holdings that should match the query.

In order for the search to return holdings with the exact call number, I need to add a truncation asterisk to the search (which gives me expected result b). This is quite confusing.

Hi - just a FYI: UIIN-1040 and UIIN-1041 are now solved and closed, and the functionality will be rolled out with the Honeysuckle release.

Hi - yes .

Hopefully the Core Functional team can pick these two stories up during the upcoming sprint.
