This is related to the original UI proposal - since that is being worked on in metadata management, we should let the UI redesign guide whether changes to checkout are needed. In any case, there would be a new feature if so and it's likely that the item link would be retained (since items are the level where RA staff work the most.) Resolving this jira.

This is on hold as I await feedback from the UX team on whether we will retain links in the rows.

Thanks, . So, with the change you are proposing, it sounds like this story will be completed, as it requests that we make the instance/title a link to the instance record (which happens to also show all the items and holdings associated with the instance).
To be clear, this is not the same view we want to show when clicking on a barcode. That should jump to the specifics of a single item. It sounds like the single item view isn't working yet, but based on Filip's fairly recent video, it is planned.

the end result of will be so that when clicked on the barcode or title, you will end up in the ui-inventory with a search for the barcode and the first (and only) instance result with expanded details. That result will be an instance record with the holding and item information visible in the appropriate section.

Purpose: Instance name should be link to instance record in FOLIO. Currently it's linking to item record because we don't yet have the instance ID in the loan record. This should be taken care of as part of which will enable us to make the change on Check out.
Scenarios:
Scenario
Given the Checkout page
When an valid item is scanned
Then the instance/title displaying for the scanned item should link to the instance record.
