Oh, I thought Julian supplied more translations for some reason. I have seen those few strings translated. I don't know, we can show just that in the demo, I guess, and explain that we'll show more translations (probably fake ones) next time.

Cate, any installation that contains recent module versions can be used to demo the translations.
folio-testing has recent module versions.
These strings are translated:
Welcome message on start screen.
User -> User Details -> Loans section in the right panel
Settings -> Organisation -> Key Bindings -> subtitle in the right panel
Settings -> Organisation -> Language and Localization -> subtitle in the right panel)

Something odd seems to be going on here for you. Julian's translations are displaying – it's just that there are not very many of them. WHen you login to http://folio-testing.aws.indexdata.com/ what is the first thing you see? Since I changed the locale to German, I see:
FOLIO , Settings – Trivial, Users, Items, Check out, Check in, Requests

Thanks. I had hoped we could demo this, but I didn't understand it wasn't wired up. Is that why Julian's translations aren't displaying?
If this isn't wired up, I don't think there's much to demo. Are there already stories for the next steps on this?
and I just talked about entering a story to create and import fake translations. For example, we can create a translation file that contains "translations" which are just the English strings appended with "_Hu" for Hungarian. This way we can test that translation is working without being blocked by actual translations. I will enter that story, but it would be good if someone else could create the stories for the work needed to wire up the new translation mechanism.

And note that the internationalization work up to this point has been about providing the mechanism for translations – not doing the actual translations, or wiring them into the modules.
Julian, I used Google Translate to do some horrible German translations of some UI elements, just so I'd have something to PoC my code changes against. When you have some spare time, could you please replace them with decent translations?
