The `:hover` `background-color` is applied only to the portion of a row that is initially visible. When the pane is scrolled horizontally, the portion that was offscreen will never display the `:hover` color.

and were able to address with a short term fix but we need to see if there is a better fix to address this issue as it seems to be recurring.
