DRAFT: Extend Item Metadata to Support Loan Rules

Jakub, let's discuss whether to do this now and how to scope.

Purpose: To extend the basic Item metadata so there are sufficient parameters to support loan rules. Assumption is that loan rules will be associated with the following parameters:

  • User-level:

    • Patron Group

  • Item-level:

    • Material Type (e.g. book, CD, journal)

    • Location (shelving location)

      • Permanent location

      • Temporary location (takes precedence, if populated)

    • Loan Type (e.g. can circulate, reading room only, hourly)

      • Permanent loan type

      • Temporary loan type (takes precedence, if populated)

Scenarios:

  1. Scenario

    • Given an item record

    • When displayed (in read, edit and create modes)

    • Then "Temporary location" should display
