Recommendation: separate mechanism for ending a process from Check In

Associate the end of a process with a service point

  • Disinclined to "touch items twice", but seems preferable over the following:

    • Circ staff are responsible for ending processes through Check In; since checking items in can also trigger processes, this would make it unclear whether an item is supposed to be in a process or not
    • The system considers items to be shelved or awaiting pickup once the process ends
  • Need to know where items are coming from if they are stuck in transit
