Instructions
Create reading room
Log in to test environment (linked above) using the RRA-setup/RRA-setup credentials.
Navigate to the Settings app.
Select Tenant -> Reading room access.
Create a reading room:
Enter room name,
Check the ‘Public’ checkbox.
Note: if the ‘Public’ option is selected, the room will be allowed for all patrons by default
Associate one or more service points with the reading room.
Navigate to the Users app.
Open a user record. Select a user with user type staff or patron (e.g. UAT, Patron1).
Note: Reading room access can be set for user records with the type patron or staff only
Verify reading room access.
Ensure that the newly created reading room is displayed in the ‘Reading room access’ section of the user record with “Allowed” access.
Change user access to the reading room
Log in to test environment (linked above) using the RRA-staff/RRA-staff credentials.
Navigate to the Users app
Create a patron record. Enter the following details and save the record:
First and Last names
Patron group
Expiration date
Barcode
User type: Patron
Email
Check the Reading room access section of the newly created user record.
Ensure that reading rooms are displayed with default access.
Edit user record:
Change access for one of the reading rooms
Add note
Check the Reading room access section for this user record. Ensure that:
Access for the reading room is changed
Note is displayed
Last updated details display the date when the access was updated and the username of who updated it.
Check user access to a reading room
Pre-defined patron for the test:
Patron1 has access to the Main Reading Room. The reading room is assigned to service point “Circ Desk 1”.
Patron1 does not have access to the Science & Business Reading Room. The reading room is assigned to “Circ Desk 4”.
Log in to test environment (linked above) using the RRA-security/RRA-security credentials.
Navigate to the Reading room access app.
Note: The logged user should have defined service point preferences in the user profile. The defined service point should be assigned to the reading room.
Ensure that the ‘Circ Desk1’ service point is selected by default (as defined in the user profile) and the Main Reading Room is displayed (as defined in the reading room setting).
Enter Patron barcode “Patron1” and check reading room access details:
Patron name
Patron barcode
Expiration date
Reading room access: Allow access
Allow access to the patron.
Switch service point to ‘Circ Desk 4’.
Ensure that reading room has been changed and the Science & Business Reading Room is displayed.
Enter Patron barcode “Patron1” and check reading room access details:
Patron name
Patron barcode
Expiration date
Reading room access: Deny access
Reading room access note: not allowed
Deny access to the patron.
