Course Reserves DocumentationMarcia Borensztajn

Right now, the documentation site is live and publicly available.  There is only a limited amount of content available, as we are just beginning this process.  Please keep in mind that all content currently in the site is in draft status.  Also keep in mind that the documentation is primarily for end users, and should address the tasks they perform.  We are considering having a section called “Implementation Notes” or something similar to document things that might be important for implementation, but not for day-to-day usage.

Current content review

There are two pieces of content to review.  To access them:

1. Go to docs.folio.org.
2. Click the Go to the Docs button.
3. On the left-hand menu, go to Resource Access > Courses.  The first piece of content to review appears on the Courses page.
4. On the left-hand menu, go to Administration > Settings > Courses.  The second piece of content to review appears on the Settings > Courses page.

Questions regarding feedbackMarcia Borensztajn

We can collect feedback on the content in multiple ways:

- Copy and paste the content into a Word / Google doc and provide comments in the doc.
- Email us your comments.
- Give your comments verbally at our review session.

Whichever way works best for you is fine. If you have any written feedback, it would be great to have that prior to our review meeting if possible. We can then clarify any outstanding questions we have during our review.

Questions regarding contentLauren Gallina

Lauren Gallina, one of our Technical Writers available to us through the Google Season of Docs program, is the lead author of the content, and will be facilitating the session.  She has prepared a few questions in advance for you to consider.

1. Should we include the Course Reserves permissions in the documentation? Is this important to users? Or could we document it in the Users app documentation and link over to it?
2. Reporting section on wiki says data is accessible via LDP? What is LDP and should we mention this?
3. Integrations section on the wiki mentions VuFind. Should we include VuFind as a possible compatible discovery layer? What about other systems that work with the FOLIO Courses app?
4. Considerations for Implementation section on the wiki -- why is this information here and do we need to mention any of this in the documentation? What does cross listed courses have to do with implementation?
5. For what types of items would you need to add copyright information to the reserve?
