Over the last two year’s FOLIO’s documentation site, https://docs.folio.org has been created to support the adoption of FOLIO. The site is excellent and is actively maintained by a group of community volunteers. Their efforts are directed and coordinated by the FOLIO Technical Editor, Marcia Borensztajn. Marcia has been a key resource - choosing the platform, establishing processes and standards, and coordinating the documentation effort. The previous source of funding for Marcia's contract for FOLIO work has expired.
The FOLIO Community Council, at the request of the Product Council, is seeking to fund Marcia for 6 months while we identify a community member to assume the Technical Editor role. We are looking to raise up to $21,120 in short order so that we can maintain continuity with our documentation. The Nolana release (December) will bring new features and changes to existing functionality, and we do not want to lose momentum or have our documentation site fall behind.
Documentation makes a good project great. It is also one of the key ways for individuals to contribute to FOLIO without having to write code. In addition to the Technical Editor role we seek additional documentation contributors.
Please help us reach out goal and make an even better documentation for FOLIO one of the key accomplishments for 2023
