 Product Council Review/Update

Hottest news regarding the FOLIO meeting (from today, not yet communicated by the PC):

  • the meeting will occur from June 17 through June 19 at the  DoubleTree Hotel in Washington, DC (Crystal City)
  • details yet to be worked out, agenda development by small committee made up of PC members and developers
  • it is intended to be a mix of developers and librarians/SMEs so that there is good collaborative discussion
  • registration fee of $100
  • capacity 150 attendees

PC 28 Feb 2019

  • Sprint review 56-57 Recording  & Slide deck
  • FOLIO Implementation Group is now formed
  • Gap Analysis/Feature Ranking 2019 Proposal from Kristin Martin, Dracine Hodges, and Holly Mistlebauer
    • will take place in March through April, final result presentation will be in early June
  • Epic Priority Report from Harry Kaplanian
    • proposed a list of next top priority epics, starting with #1 Migration tools,#2 Metadata Record Export, #3 External system integrations, #4 Bulk Edit, #5 Custom Fields etc.
    • relation to gap analysis 2019 not clear
    • follow-up discussion on March 27 at PC

PC 21 Feb 2019

  • discussion about hiring 1-2 technical writer to ensure documentation for developers and to ensure consistency
  • WOLFCon will occur this year if possible, if not there will be one in early 2020

PC 14 Feb 2019

  • Health Report & Status by Open Tech Strategies (OTS) to review FOLIO and its readiness for a multi-tenant hosting in production
    • FOLIO generally in good shape, but raise some issues, particularly around scalability and security
    • Tech Council now reviews recommendations
    • maybe full security audit will follow

Todd talks about his experiences at U of Alabama with EBSCO regarding bulk loading, sent data to EBSCO (Theodor), they mapped and converted to JSON file

  • tries to find out more information about the technical process, things we can reuse
  • would be good to have a JSON schema
