Agenda items

  1. Development progress - ERM sprint 152
  2. Nolana release - new feature summary
  3. Orchid release - development plans

Minutes

Dev progress

  • sprint 152
  • new work is covered in presentation on next releases

Nolana ERM work and features

  • federation support for mod-agreements | fix for issues in multi-tenant production environment in GBV
  • done by K-Int | not core ERM dev team (Bienenvolk) | outside of normal work | not included in Flower release but released as mod-agreements 5.3.0 (intermediate release between MG and Nolana
  • Managed Dashboards
    • users can have multiple dashboards
    • other users can be granted view, edit or manage access to a another user's dashboard
    • there will be one tab for "My dashboard" and one for "My shared dashboard"
  • Extended information on packages and resources from GOKb
  • GOKb harvesting enhancements
  • Agreements UX enhancements
    • addition of properties to agreements search: Name, alternative name, description | more precise search possible
    • display of all identifiers
    • "Create another" option for creating or editing agreement lines
    • Agreement line search and filter | separate agreements and agreement lines search | searching by POL number for agreement lines is possible
    • Jessica Harris in chat: That is a great feature! I'm really looking forward to this release.
    • agreement lines can be viewed on a separate screen | there will be more discussion and work to improve working with loads of agreement lines in the course of the next releases | e.g. displaying agreement lines in edit view of an agreement → pros and cons
  • Sara: there were issues with editing agreements with several hundred agreement lines
  • Jessica Harris in chat: The issue that Sarah mentioned - not being to edit agreements with several (100+) agreement lines - do you think that a fix for it may be out by Orchid? I understand if this is hard to know since it needs to be worked on, but it would be a huge improvement to our workflow and allow us to get away from managing content on an outside database.
  • Owen: will be brought in development planning to schedule work

Orchid ERM work and features

  • Addressing technical debt | will help ensure fewer bugs in ERM software
  • Areas of work:
    • RTL Migration
    • Centralisation of test resources
    • Migration from Stripes-Connect
    • Integration Tests
    • End-to-End Tests
  • more reliable data sync with GOKb | is a complex process | as a result less time to spend investigating KB issues
  • authoritative source mode for Agreements local KB
  • tasklist/checklist support | will build on functionality developed for OA | lightweight "work flow" option for ERM

Maybe in Orchid or Poppy

  • support options for typifying or categorising Agreements | Trials, memberships, content based ...
  • Enhancements to e-resorce search and navigation (local KB) | quicker search response times for e-resources | simplified navigation
  • Implementers topics | currently identifying issues from previously discussed implementers topics

The issue that Sarah mentioned - not being to edit agreements with several (100+) agreement lines - do you think that a fix for it may be out by Orchid? I understand if this is hard to know since it needs to be worked on, but it would be a huge improvement to our workflow and allow us to get away from managing content on an outside database.
