Brief description

This ECS circulation functionality test focuses on item level requests. This functionality includes the ability to create, view, edit, reorder and cancel item level requests. The goal of this test is to verify that ECS item level request functionality works as expected.

Testing will take place ?November 4 through 12, 2024. Please have the form submitted by the end of the day on November 12.

Instructions

1. Create an Item level request

• Log into https://folio-perf-vega-2nd-consortium.ci.folio.org/

• Navigate to the Inventory app

• Find one of the following titles:
  A semantic web primer
  Do androids dream of electric sheep?
  Nod
  Life after life
  Salvage the bones: A novel
  Temeraire
  Night watch
  Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow
  The 1619 project
  Black Cakecake

• Open the Consortial holdings accordion until you find an item barcode; ensure that the item’s status is “Available”

• Copy the item barcode. Use only this item barcode throughout the steps below

• Navigate to the Requests app

• From the Actions dropdown menu, select New

• Look to make sure the box next to Create “Create title level request request” is not checked

• Paste the item barcode into the Item barcode box and select Enter

• Select the Requester lookup link and search for one of the following users:
  Stephanie Buck
  Evangeline Armstrong
  Gwenydd Meloney
  Sally Owens
  Alice Liddell
  Ursula Todd
  Nicholas Aria
  Callan PhillionSylvie Todd
  Ursula Todd

• Select the User

• Select hold Page from the Request type and select a Pickup service point

• Click Enter

2. Create an Item level request with a Proxy

• Log in to https://folio-perf-vega-2nd-consortium.ci.folio.org/

• Navigate to the Requests app

• From the Actions dropdown menu, select New

• Check to make sure the box next to “Create title level request request” is checked”

• Select the Title lookup link and search for the title you used above

• Select that Title by clicking on it

• Select not checked

• Using the barcode from step 1 Paste the item barcode into the Item barcode box and select Enter

• Select the Requester lookup link

• Search for Proxy and select one of the following
  ProxyUser
  TestProxy
  Test Proxy 3
  Test Proxy 4
  Test Proxy 5
  Test Proxy 6(Note: Test is the last name of these users)
  Proxy 1 Test
  Proxy 2 Test
  Proxy 3 Test
  Proxy 4 Test
  Proxy 5 Test
  Proxy 6 Test

• Select the radio button next to the name below “Or acting as proxy for” in the dialog box called “Who are you acting as?”

• Select Continue

• Select hold Hold from the Request type and select a Pickup service point

• Click Enter

• Repeat these steps to create a second request, instead select “Self” on the “Who are you acting as?” model
  

3. View Item level request details

• Log into https://folio-perf-vega-2nd-consortium.ci.folio.org/

• Navigate to the Requests app

• Select any of the following filters by checking the box (more filters will be functional with coming development):

  • Holds

  • Pages

  • Open - Not yet filled

• Scroll through Requests that appear in the main pane of the Requests app and locate a request you placed in this testing session

• Click on the request

4. Edit an Item level request

• Log in to https://folio-perf-vega-2nd-consortium.ci.folio.org/

• Navigate to the Requests app

• Using the search box or filters on the left, look for one of the request requests you created in steps 12; a Hold

• Select the request by clicking on it’s line in the results table

• Review the following in the Request details pane: Request expiration date, Fulfillment preference, Pickup service point

• Click on the Actions button in the Request details and select Edit

• Edit the form by adding a Request expiration date, or by changing the Fulfillment preference or Pickup service point

• Click Save & close

• Click on the Actions menu in the Request details and select Edit again

• Edit the form a second time by adding or changing the Request expiration date, or by changing the Fulfillment preference or Pickup service point

• Click Cancel

• Did you locate a request you placed previously?

• Were you able to change the contents in one of the fields listed in the instructions?

• Were you able to Save & close an edited request?

• Were you able to cancel the edited form?

• Did your edits appear in the Request details?

5. Reorder an item request queue

• Log in to FOLIO

• Navigate to the Requests app

• Locate a request one of the requests you created in steps 1 or 2

• From the request details, select the Actions dropdown

• Select Reorder queue

• Using the 6 dots to the left of the Order column, click and drag a request to a different place in the queue

• Pay attention to the number in the Order column
  

6. Cancel an Item level request

• Log in to https://folio-perf-vega-2nd-consortium.ci.folio.org/

• Navigate to the Requests app

• Locate the request you created in step 1

• From the request details, select the Actions dropdown

• Select Cancel

• Select a Reason for cancellation from the dropdown menu

• Click Confirm

• Look at the request details and note the request status
