Olga’s Question

There is an improved fines’ transfer procedure in Quesnelia and we are trying to figure out if we could start using it. It will be interesting to hear from other libraries that are already using it. Specifically, if they could share the info on:

  • How you do it now?

  • How you know that the student paid the fine/replacement fee?

  • How soon after the fine/fee occurred do you send it to the external office?

  • Is anyone doing it with Banner?

Who is on Q? Who is actually using this?

  • Comissioned by cornell for their bursar system.

    • The issues are that the export file capped out at a certain number of users. It also exports fine/fees but not refunds. Tom has developed alternative processes. COrnell has not investigated the new changes yet.

  • Are there plans to implement Tom’s special sauce into FOLIO itself?

    • Vega is currently tied up with LC and ECS work (requests). There is not much bandwidth until T.

  • Major improvements are likely quite far out

WOLFcon reflection, next steps

  • Ask CC if AI is acceptable for help with notes

    • Plan the agenda two months out

    • Rotate lead convener

    • How To Run Implementers (draft)

    • Updates to PC (make sure this actually happens)

    • How many hours do we actually spend doing this so others can take over without killing themselves

  • Which 3-4 people will take this on?

    • Post to slack

  • Fix the calendar for next year

Action items

Tara will try to do these:

  •   Ask CC if we can use AI to help with the burden of notes
  •  Post to Implementers slack to solicit an “editorial board”--Implementers Board
  •  Fix next year’s calendar to fit the new model
  •  Write up a standard agenda so that the board can stay on task and finish all their work every meeting
  •
