Funds | It was suggested that it would be good to have some minimal redundancy of reporting functionality in the acquisitions app because some library staff may need access to some, but not all, reports such as financial data. Ledger is where the fiscal period is defined and will have many fiscal years. There can be multiple ledgers. Are there examples of organizations having two different fiscal years? Texas A&M's Qatar campus' fiscal year runs on a different cycle from the U.S. campus. VZG campuses have different fiscal years. Fund defines relationships between the funds. Who can I transfer money to, who can transfer money to me. Fund structure can be flat or hierarchical. The intention is that there will be ways to enforce some rules but there will be a lot of flexibility. Funds are then distributed to budgets. On Fund Summary screen, Unavailable funds = Encumbered, Awaiting Payment, and Expenditures Boxes at the bottom of the screen are the popups that you'll get when you click on the various buttons, i.e. Transactions, Transfer, etc. There will be a lot of permissioning on this app - who can create, close, freeze, transfer, etc. If you don't have permissions, the option will be greyed out. The diagrams will be made available. |
