  • Kimie created mockups for UIU-2008 (Support showing note for User pop-up app). The notes, as they are deployed in Lotus, are backward as far as the mockups are concerned.
    • The mockups always have the "Close" button highlighted and on the right, with the "Delete" button appearing on the left for those users with permission to delete the note.
    • Lotus has the "Close" button moved to the left if the "Delete" button is visible; "Delete" is highlighted and on the right if it's present.
  • The SIG would prefer that the Close button always be highlighted and on the right, regardless of whether the user has permission to delete the note.
  • At this point in development, it isn't possible to close the note by pressing the Enter key.  The SIG decided that the Enter key should trigger the Close button.  (Or just close the note.) COMMENT from KIMIE: I would like to add that we may want to consider having the ENTER key trigger whatever the primary button is on the modal since we will want the behavior to be the same across apps. ESC key could close the modal as it is supposed to do today in some apps that have shortcuts; then in addition the ENTER key would also perform whatever action on the modal is Primary. If that is Close, then the modal Closes. If it is something more elaborate like in the eHoldings app, "Add package (all titles) to holdings".
  • The note, when it pops up, says "Note for Patron."  In the report UINOTES-131, some institutions reported confusion with counter staff - do they need to read the note to the patron?  To avoid confusion, the SIG recommends changing "Note for Patron" to just "Note."
  • There was a general discussion of keyboard shortcuts.  We may ask Khalilah to attend a future meeting and discuss keyboard shortcuts with us.

I think these are mockups for what we decided.
