Marcia offers, that one of us could work with José, the Google Seasons of Docs writer, again. She is currently writing an application for the Google Seasons of Docs program. Task: - to work through a proposal for the next piece of work
- Timeline: once he is re-hired (if Google approves two writers), he would start his work sometime in April or possibly May.
Marcia asks us for feedback. She wants to sign off the draft content in the installation section as soon as possible. I think it we should at least sign off the single server installation procedure, as this is the way most people will do their first installation of Folio. Feedback from Jo Drexl (concerning "installation without containers"): "I modified the documentation a few weeks ago and uploaded it to git. This needs to be reviewed and merged; the PR is open: https://github.com/folio-org/docs/pull/4/commits/604930f2656601bc69d30ce9cc822be99e5ec15b"
Meeting notes: - Single Server without containers is not an official way; should not be part of the official documentation
- Single Server with conntainers: Florian G. is willing to go through this documentation; at the moment he is deploying with Ansible scripts.
- Upgrade & Update should also become part of the documentation
- Creating an additional tenant is also of interest
- Kubernetes self-deployment: A group is required to install and maintain this; 3-6 people; 1 year of work; This is out of scope of the Folio documentation
- But the "Kubernetes example" with the installation via the Rancher cluster can remain in the documentation. It requires that knowledge in maintaining a Kubernetes cluster is a prerequisite.
