Purpose:
When working with a third party system for cataloguing and "on order" items are imported to Inventory, those items cannot be linked to orders. The user can only create a link between order and instance.
Creating a link between an item and an order would give the ability to see which item had actually been created by an order
User story statement(s):
As an acquisitions librarian,
I want to associate an existing item with a piece record
So that orders and cataloging records can be created independently and related to each other after creation
Scenarios:
Scenario 1: Select an item to pair to an order:
Given an item record has been created
And an order has been created
When a users creates or edits a piece record
Then the user can can choose to connect the piece record to an existing item.
Scenario 2: Limit items to pair by holding
Given a piece record needs to be attached to an existing item
When a user selects a holding associated with an instance
Then the user will be prompted to choose which item attached to the holding to associate the piece record
