When clicking HRID bound-with item link then error page Something went wrong appears

Description

Overview: When working on then the developers uncovered following bug, when clicking the bound-with HRID link then the refreshing error page "Something went wrong" appears when clicking Item HRID BW-2.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Log into some FOLIO Snapshot as user diku_admin

  2. Go to Inventory

  3. Search for Instance HRID bw*

  4. View the instance record with the title beginning with Rapport från inspektionsresa ... (long title), and HRID bwinst0001

  5. View the Holdings record: Main library > 1958 A 8050

  6. Drill down to the accordion Bound-with and analytics

  7. Click the hot link Item HRID BW-1

  8. View the item record in detailed view

  9. Close the display of the item record, by clicking the X in the left upper corner

  10. Go back to the instance with HRID bwinst0001

  11. Click view holdings record: Main library > DE3

  12. Drill down to the accordion Bound-with and analytics

  13. Click the hot link Item HRID BW-2

Expected Results:
Get the Item record with HRID BW-2

Actual Results:
Get the error page: Something went wrong.

Hmm.  So when reported this error UI from clicking the bound-with link, I thought it was a duplicate of what I found with , but perhaps not.  I also can't reproduce the error described above on snapshot.

The error I found in happens when the bound-with link points to an item on a different instance than the one whose holdings you're currently viewing. (There might be additional triggers as well.) So:

  • The same steps #1 - #3 as above,

  • For step #4 search for a different instance record, "Metod att beräkna..." (long title), HRID bwinst0002. 

  • Continue with steps #5 - #7 as above.

    • On step #7 I get the error page as Charlotte reported.

  • Hit the browser Refresh button.

    • The page loads fine.  So the URL is correct.

I don't know if this is what you and saw, if not we might need two Jiras.

yes I can take a look at this. I'm having a hard time reproducing this issue in folio snaphsot though. would you mind trying to recreate this case in snaphost?
