Description

Overview: When searching by ISSN, FOLIO allows for search across following resource identifiers with ISSN data: ISSN, Invalid ISSN and Linking ISSN. ISSN har always enteres using following syntax XXXX-XXXX

Requirements from the MM-SIG:

  1. search across following data in the instance record:

    • Resource identifier type: Invalid ISSN

    • Resource identifier type: ISSN

    • Resource identifier type: Linking ISSN

  2. search on ISSN numbers

    • with syntax: XXXX-XXXX

Scenarios:

  1. Scenario

    • Login to FOLIO Snapshot https://folio-snapshot.dev.folio.org/, go to Inventory, Search & filter pane, and select any of the three segments (Instance, Holdings, Item - )

    • When a user wants to search on ISSN then following search options are in focus of this story:

      • ISSN - see the three UX mock ups below:

    • When searching on ISSN

    • Then search are conducted across following elements:

      • Resource identifier type: Invalid ISSN

      • Resource identifier type: ISSN

    • Ensure automated testing coverage for this new code is 80% plus and confirm with screenshot

 - ISSN and Invalid ISSN is already supported. Spitfire will do work to also include Linking ISSN matches too (JIRA: )

Yes, when searching ISSN then this needs to include following three Resource identifier types

  1. ISSN

  2. Invalid ISSN

  3. Linking ISSN

I'll mark this ticket blocked until the necessary MSEARCH work has been done. Will you send me the jira link?

  • It seems the following ISXN values are searchable - identifier type is ISBN, Invalid ISBN, ISSN or Invalid ISSN

  • So I think we only need to support Linking ISSN for this story
