Filtering 'Circulation log' by description does not work properly

Description

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Log in to Snapshot as an admin user

  2. Open 'Users' app in 'Apps' dropdown

  3. Check the Active filter under Status

  4. Select any user without barcode

  5. Click on 'Patron blocks' => 'Create block'

  6. Enter the description into the ‘Display description' box, e.g. ‘Testing description filter’

  7. Click 'Save&close'

  8. Open 'Circulation log' in the top toolbar

  9. Enter the word ‘testing' into the 'Description’ filter box

Expected result: The Circulation log loads Circ actions that include the description word "testing" in the description field
Actual result: 'No results found. Please check your filters.' message is displayed to the user

Hi, the described scenario is not a bug:
- Circulation actions can't be done without a user barcode.
- Description filter in circ log works with circ action description, not a parton block description. Please, see attached recording.

I am closing the ticket.

A few notes:

  • I’m able to successfully query using a different search string in the description field (e.g. “Recall”)

  • After following the repro steps, I’m seeing errors as described in /

  • It looks like the API call is succeeding with 200 response, but returning 0 results.

To me this feels like it’s not an issue with the query side of things, but rather an issue with capturing/persisting circulation log events.
