Overview: Current sorting algorithm for SuDoc call numbers appears to take spaces into account, producing different results when the query contains or doesn’t contain a space. Expectations are that for SuDoc call numbers, the sorting algorithm should not differentiate between these two queries.
Requirements:
When browsing SuDoc call numbers in the “Superintendent of Documents classification” call number browse option, ignore spaces within the sorting algorithm
For example:
Queries “Y10.2: B85/10” and “Y10.2:B85/10” should return the same sorting results. Currently Y10.2: B85/10” (with the space before “B”) does not sort within the “B”s as expected)
