Fixed in Poppy. Will not be fixed for Orchid. See earlier comments.

, I see, yes I remember this fix. I agree with closing the issue. Thank you!

Hey   and

With MARCedit, I ran the MARCvalidator and this record had the following error

008:  Length appears to be invalid.  Reported length is: 38.  Expected length: 40

This is an issue for the Orchid release and the only way for this to be fixed in Orchid is for the library to update these records with the expected 008 length which is 40.

We corrected this issue in the Poppy release

I think this issue can be closed.

Going forward

  • When an issue is isolated to a small number of MARC records

  • And to one library

  • Support should export one of the records and open in MARCedit

  • Then run MARCValidator to see if there are any errors in the file

, FYI:
I have tried to import the marc file into our snapshot environment, but because the file contains 999 field, import process failed.
After that I have edited the file and removed 999 field and tried to import it again. This time file successfully imported.
After importing, I have tried to edit MARC bib record and edit window shown without any problem or error message.
Does it mean that the problem is already fixed in latest versions of modules or because I have edited the file using MARCedit app, MARCedit has validated the file and thus no error?

I think the best option for investigating will be to ask them to export one of the records and provide us with it in MARC format. If it is possible then we can check it locally.
