Add new field "Instance Source URI" to Inventory Instance

Description

Purpose: Add a new property to the Instance schema: Instance Source URI

Acceptance criterias:

  1. new field containing Instance Source URI has been added to the Instance schema

  2. field is optional

  3. field is not repeatable

  4. field can only contain a single URI – see URI component of Electronic access array in Instance/Holdings/Item records

Would the URI potentially be used for finding the instance to update when the source changes, or is that not a relevant use case?

(implying that multiple instances could be subject to the same change following a single source record change if the URI is not unique)

just want to add that I checked in with my colleague , the engineer behind this work, and he shared that a more common case would multiple Sinopia BF Instance URIs with corresponding FOLIO Instances but those Sinopia BF Instances could all share a common Sinopia BF Work URI (but that URI does not need to be stored in FOLIO). So this aligns with my thinking below that those relationships would be managed externally and not be a requirement for FOLIO.

We didn’t consider checking for uniqueness. I don’t believe that’s a requirement but I will check with others.

that makes sense – if we expect a 1-1 relationship between a record and a source record, then uniqueness should be enforced
