Hi a VERY old MODINV - is this still relevant? Can we maybe close it?

Create a new release (and maybe announce on Slack) for the changes. People who uses the latest Docker image have to keep up anyway.

What is the best way to do this as gracefully as possible?

Should I change the default but put configuration in the Dockerfile to use the old default port?

That would allow us to choose when to alter the docker image that is produced, as I imagine this will break any consumer of the image?

To run Docker image, it would be nice if the port mapping part is -pxxxx:8081 not -pxxxx:9403 since pretty much all other modules are using 8081 except inventory, circulation, and of course okapi.

Sure I'm happy to help facilitate that change for both mod-inventory and mod-circulation. It has been one of those low priority clean up activities that hasn't made it on the radar.

It was mostly a convenience from a long while ago when using unmanaged instances of these modules and not wanting to have to configure the port each time, it has likely outstayed it's welcome.

Has 8081 become the defacto default API port for modules now?
