Remove Instance ID in Item Record

Description

Purpose: To remove the Instance ID in the item record, as it's old and not needed anymore. Marc and Mike agree with this change (see comments on ).

Scenarios:

  1. Scenario

    • Given the item record

    • When displayed (in create, view or edit mode)

    • Then the Instance ID field should not be displayed

I initially closed this, have reopened it so it can be used in the future for the actual remove of Instance ID, as covers making the property optional. I have left the sprint15 label on for the moment, so as to remind us that this was discussed during this sprint.

Agreed, instanceID will be optional in the next release (5.0.0)

I suggest that you initially make instanceId optional (and ignored); that way the client won't break when it gets a new mod-inventory with this change. After the client has been updated not to send the no-longer-necessary instanceId, you can then make it forbidden.

To clarify: this issue, I think, is a server-side one relating to the schema, and Marc will be the one to fit it. The UI side is in , and I'll see to that.
