looks like EDCCOMMON-85 is now closed so then this can be unblocked, and we can get this rolling

Hi this ticket is being blocked by the missing release of edge-common.

When that module is released, then 's work can be merged too, and the featuer can be closed.

suggested a change that I made to the PR. Thanks Julian.

For the final step I got to assume that this module should not depend on an unreleased version of edge-common.

Suppose I must block this issue on edge-common until I hear otherwise or edge-common gets released.
