Eureka Lab notes

This page is to pull together any notes we need to make during Eureka lab sessions.

Prep work

One thing to do before experimenting with the new permissions structure is to take a look at what permissions you have now.

  • How complex are your current permissions?

    • Do you have many permission sets?

    • Are permission sets nested inside other sets?

    • Action items:

      • Make notes on what the individual permissions are included in each set

      • Remove any permission set inside another permission set, and replace it with that set’s individual permissions.

Work in the Eureka environment

There are many Capabilities and Roles that have been migrated from an OKAPI structure to a Eureka structure. However, several don’t have helpful names. A couple of possible steps forward:

  1. Pick a Role that looks like something useful to you.

  2. Rename it to something that associates it with you or your library.

  3. Edit it, if necessary.

  4. Assign it to a fake user, who you should also associate with your library.
